PAINTINGS

Paintings Series “Atmos” is based on studies of atmospheric light conditions and uses oil paint on paper.

Painting series “Eden” is based on landscape studies often in En Plein Air (open air painting outdoors) and uses oil on untreated masonite board and paper treated panels.

Painting Series “Black Hole” is based on studies of negative spacial vistas and uses lacquer, enamel and acrylic paint on untreated black canvas.

Painting Series “Huntington” is based on color field studies and uses oil based Inks on paper applied with palette knives and printing press rollers. The series is divided into several phases. Initial singular passes of ink stains on paper and the later versions use cut/torn collage sections of the ink stains on paper and photo printed images collage.

Painting Series “Primordial Places” is based on Surrealist Landscape studies and uses oil on canvas and acrylic on canvas. Triptychs: Blue Bodies, Weeping Rock, Water studies, Orchids, and Eruption. Diptychs: Ambiguous Horizons, Blossoms and Bathers.

SCULPTURE WORKS

Sculpture Series “MT wood” is based on the recovery and reanimation of “wood demons” (fallen trees revisited as standing shapes).

Sculpture Series “AK wood” is based on found driftwood from the Prince William Sound reshaped as reclining figurative forms.

Sculpture Series “Soft-Stone” is based on life figurative studies cut from alabaster and soap stone.

PHOTO COLLAGE // MIXED MEDIA

Photo Assemble Series “Odalisque” is constructed from photo images printed on C-41 color paper and archival Cibachrome surfaces. The images are photos of European landmarks, notably Monet’s gardens at Givarnay, the Louvre, and the Uffizzi palace. The prints are physically cut and pasted together to create the surreal landscape.

Photo collection contains traditional B/W silver halide prints, photo murals, photo stats, photo acetates and Cibachrome prints.
